About Our Bar Academy

The Learning Skills for Life Bar Academy (LS4L) is a business and hospitality skills program for those seeking employment in the hospitality industry. Participants can use this program as a launchpad to start a mobile business or build careers in the bar, food and hospitality industry and beyond.

Supported by Diageo, we provide mentorship, personal development workshops, and entrepreneurial insights to nurture your growth. With scholarships available and expert instructors, we aim to prepare you for a successful career in the hospitality sector.

ATTENDANCE

POLICY

Participants should be present all the time except when sick or an emergency comes up. Please notify your instructor.
Participants who have 3 unexcused absences will be removed from the cohort with the option to take the next cohort.

FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)

Are classes online or in person?

Both. LS4L is fast paced accelerated program. There is a 10 hour online course, and the hands-on classes are in person.

Do I need to be 21?

Yes, you must be 21 or older.

What are the days and times for class?

Classes typically are evenings starting at 6pm and some Saturdays at 11am. We ask that you have an open and flexible schedule for the duration of the program, including evenings and weekends

Who should apply?

You should apply if you want to use this program as a launchpad to start your own mobile business or build a career in the bar, food and hospitality industry and beyond.

How much will this cost?

Diageo provides scholarships for participants to attend at no cost for the classes upon completion of the 10 hour online class and interview. The program is sponsored by Diageo North America.
